Company History

Established in 1987, SheepskinShop is a family-owned and operated retailer, wholesaler, and distributor of genuine sheepskin and wool products based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Our story began when our founders, a husband and wife, started SheepskinShop from their garage while raising a young family. With one of our founders originally from Australia and bringing firsthand knowledge of the sheepskin industry, we saw an opportunity to introduce premium genuine sheepskin products to North America. Built on hard work, family values, and a commitment to quality, what began as a small home-based operation soon grew into a trusted business serving customers across Canada and the United States.

In the early years, we travelled to trade shows with nothing more than a simple banner reading “Sheepskin Products.” As customers began to recognize us, we became known as “The Sheepskin Shop", a name that stayed with us and reflects the way people have connected with our brand ever since. As demand grew, we expanded beyond importing Australian and New Zealand sheepskins, developing relationships with trusted manufacturing partners around the world while maintaining our uncompromising standards for quality, comfort, and craftsmanship.

Today, SheepskinShop proudly serves retail customers, interior designers, healthcare professionals, and wholesale partners throughout Canada and the United States. Through SheepskinShop.ca, we’ve made our products more accessible online while continuing to provide the same knowledgeable, personal service that has defined our business from the very beginning.

Nearly four decades later, we remain family-owned and operated. The children who once helped pack orders and assist in their parents’ garage are now leading the business, carrying forward the same values of quality, integrity, and customer care that have guided SheepskinShop since day one.

While our business has grown, our philosophy has remained unchanged. We believe genuine sheepskin is more than a luxury, it's a natural material valued for its comfort, durability, breathability, and timeless appeal.
